Die Studienrichtung Bildende Kunst bietet eine umfassende Ausbildung mit individu eller Schwerpunktsetzung in den Bereichen Bildhauerei-transmedialer Raum, Experimentelle Gestaltung sowie Malerei und Grafik. Das Studium hat zum Ziel, jene Quali fikationen im Bereich Konzeption, Realisation, Organisation und Theorie zu ver mitteln, um sich als KünstlerIn in den verschiedensten Sparten oder als „cultural worker“ im nationalen und internationalen Kontext erfolgreich zu bewegen. Studierende haben die Möglichkeit, gleich zu Beginn oder während des Studiums den Schwer - punkt ihrer Arbeit selbst zu wählen. Dabei steht eine große Bandbreite von handwerklichen Techniken bis zu medienorientierter Arbeit sowie die Verknüpfung beider zur Verfügung. Ab dem 2. Studienabschnitt ist es möglich, entweder den Studienzweig Bildende Kunst oder den Studienzweig Kulturwissenschaften oder auch beide parallel zu studieren. Ziel des Studiums ist eine weitreichende praktische und theoretische Ausbildung, die zu einer eigenständigen künstlerischen Position führen soll und zur Fähigkeit, sich selb ständig im Kunstbetrieb zu etablieren. Alle Berufsfelder der Bildenden Kunst und der kunstnahen Bereiche stehen dabei als Optionen offen. Neben dem Berufs - ziel Bildende/r KünstlerIn in verschiedensten Medien sind das u.a. die Bereiche der an ge wandten visuellen Kunst, die Tätigkeit als KuratorIn, als AusstellungsgestalterIn, als KunstkritikerIn, als TheoretikerIn sowie unmittelbar mit visueller Kunst befasste Bereiche des Kulturbetriebes. The Fine Arts programme offers comprehensive training with the possibility of choosing an individual focus in the fields of Sculpture-Transmedial Space, Ex per i - mental Art, and Painting & Graphic Art. The aim is to teach skills of con cept de velopment, implementation, organisation and theory required for a success ful career as artists active in a variety of disciplines or as cultural workers of national or inter - national scope. Students may choose the focus of their work at the beginning of the programme or later on during its course, drawing on a wide range of courses from craft techniques to media-oriented work or a combination of the two. From the 2nd programme phase onwards, students may follow either the Fine Arts or the Cultural Studies track, or combine both in parallel. The programme offers extensive practical and theoretical training aimed at developing an independent artistic focus and the capacity to achieve an autonomous position in the art business and provides access to any professional activity in the fine arts or art-related fields. Apart from the career option of be coming a visual artist in any medium, these activities comprise applied visual arts, curatorship, exhibition design, art criticism and review, art theory or those areas in the cultural business directly related to the visual arts.
