On 20 January 2016, numerous interested visitors attended the presentation of splace 02 and enjoyed browsing through the brand-new edition of this digital magazine dedicated to the overarching theme “colour”.  One of the focuses of the Visual Communication programme is on changes in the reading habits of people and on the evolution of digital and analog media. Together with students, professor Tina Frank and assistant professor Marianne Pührerfellner developed the bilingual digital magazine splace, an informative communication medium for tablets, whose design and dramaturgy follow an explorative-playful approach to the possibilities of digitalisation. Thematically, the magazine addresses current topics in the fields of art, culture and media landscapes. By switching the tablet from the vertical to the horizontal position or vice versa, users can tap into further levels offering additional worlds of games, texts and images.  www.splace-magazine.at
