Industrial DesignerInnen als kreative, innovative SpezialistInnen einerseits und als interdisziplinäre GeneralistInnen andererseits sind heute und zukünftig ausschlaggebend für den emotionalen, wirtschaftlichen Erfolg und den gesellschaftlichen Wert von Produkten. Mit Fokus auf Usability, auf intelligente, digital vernetzte Produkte und neue Formen der Nutzung bis hin zu neuen Geschäftsmodellen ist das Masterstudium auf die Erfordernisse des permanenten technologischen Wandels ausgerichtet und bietet Raum für inhaltliche Schwerpunktsetzung und persönliche Spezialisierung. Die Beteiligung an Forschungsprojekten ermöglicht eine wissenschaftliche Vertiefung, Kooperationen mit Industrie und anderen Universitäten gewährleisten den Bezug zur Praxis. As creative, innovative specialists on the one hand and interdisciplinary all-rounders on the other hand, industrial designers play a decisive role for the emotional and economic success— as well as the social value—of products and will certainly continue to do so in the future. With its concentration on usability, intelligent, digitally networked products and new ways of application that include novel business models, the Master programme is geared to meet the demands of constant technological change and offers ample leeway for choosing thematic focuses and personal areas of specialisation. Participation in research projects enables students to sharpen and deepen their scientific profile, while co-operation projects with enterprises and other universities ensure a strong practical orientation.
