Im Rahmen des Lehramtsstudiums Textiles Gestalten werden die Erscheinungs- formen und Funktionen des Mediums Textil in Kunst und Alltagskultur in der Vergangenheit und Gegenwart untersucht. Die vielfältigen Lernprozesse beziehen sich neben den Bereichen Mode, Raumgestaltung, Elemente des Wohnens, des Textildesigns und der Entwicklung einer eigenen künstlerischen Praxis vor allem auf die didaktische Umsetzung dieser Inhalte für den Unterricht. An diesen Inhalten werden ästhetische Aspekte, technisch ökonomische und ökologische Bedingungen und deren Wechselwirkungen untersucht. Darüber hinaus wird ein Verständnis für die Bedeutung des Textilen als Kommunikationsmittel und Medium zur Identitätskonstruktion vermittelt. Die wissenschaftliche Ausbildung vermittelt ein breites Allgemeinwissen über die historische und zeitgenössische Entwicklung der Kunst sowie im Besonderen der textilen Kultur. Kenntnisse über den Zusammenhang von kultur- und gesellschaftspolitischen Entwicklungen, über Kunst- und Kulturtheorien tragen zum Verständnis und zur kritischen Beurteilung kulturwissenschaftlicher Fragestellungen bei und schaffen Grundlagen zur wissenschaftlichen Auseinandersetzung. The diploma programme Textile Design for secondary-school teachers examines the manifestations and functions of the textile medium in art and everyday culture, both in the past and present. In addition to the study of fashion, spatial design, elements of housing culture, textile design and the development of individual artistic expression, the varied learning processes mainly focus on the didactic use and communication of these subjects in teaching. The aesthetic aspects of these manifestations, the relevant technical-economic and ecological conditions and their interactions are analysed. Moreover, students acquire an understanding of the importance of textiles as a means of communication and medium for identity-building. The scientific aspect of the curriculum imparts broad general knowledge regarding historical and contemporary developments in art and specifically in textile culture. Awareness of interrelations between cultural- and socio-political trends, artistic and culture theories contributes towards the understanding and critical evaluation of different aspects of cultural studies and creates a basis for scientific discourse.
