JOSEF PÜHRINGER Oberösterreich ist nicht nur ein wichtiger Wirtschafts- und Industriestandort, sondern auch ein Kulturland, in dem alle Aspekte von Kultur, von der Tradition bis zur Moderne, gleichberechtigt nebeneinander stehen. Die Kulturpolitik sieht es daher als ihre Aufgabe an, künstlerische Menschen in ihrer schöpferischen Tätigkeit zu begleiten, sie ernst zu nehmen, Kunst und Kultur in ihrer Vielfalt und in ihren unterschiedlichen Erscheinungsformen zuzulassen, und auch Plattform und Bühne zu bieten für Aktion, für Präsentation und für künstlerische Aussage. Das Land Oberösterreich ist zudem auch ein wichtiger Bildungs- bzw. Universitätsstandort. Die Kunstuniversität Linz ist eine der bedeutendsten Bildungseinrichtungen für die kunstbegabte und -begeisterte Jugend Österreichs, an der fachlich hervorragend ausgebildete und international renommierte Professorinnen und Professoren lehren. Als Landeshauptmann und Landeskulturreferent gratuliere ich daher allen Studier- enden zu ihrer Entscheidung, das umfangreiche Ausbildungsangebot der Kunstuniversität Linz anzunehmen und wünsche viel Erfolg! Upper Austria is not only an important business and industry location, but also a cultural hub where all aspects of culture—from the traditional to the contemporary—are assigned equal weight. For this reason, cultural policy views it as its task to support art workers in their creative efforts by taking them seriously, giving space to art and culture in all their variety and different embodiments, and offering a platform and stage for actions, presentations and artistic messages. Moreover, the Federal Province of Upper Austria is a major centre of education and a university venue. Kunstuniversität Linz is one of the most eminent educational facilities for young Austrians gifted and interested in the arts as well as a place of teaching for outstandingly trained and internationally renowned professors. In my capacity as Provincial Governor of Upper Austria and Provincial Councillor for Cultural Affairs, I would therefore like to congratulate all students on their decision to embark on the extensive training and education offerings of Kunstuniversität Linz and wish them a lot of success!
