A place full of confident courage,
critical debates and experimentation,
the university’s very own self-image
as a deliberate counter-reaction to
National Socialism and its art policy,
it has been invoking the social values
and artistic principles of the Bauhaus
from the start. And to this day, its
work is based on the connection between
artistic creativity and the claim
to initiate and shape social processes.
At the end of 2019, a large part of
the university locations were united
in the heart of the city of Linz. The
extensive creative power and the inexhaustible
in their creative and socially
effective abilities. Students, lecturers
and the entire workforce dedicate
themselves to art, creating art, and
design on a daily basis. Research
and teaching happen harmoniously
in accordance with each other while
inventing and creating new things.

The University of Art and Design Linz is a reliable

as well as the entire economy, and a crucial
developer of the region. As an essential part of
the public life in Linz and Upper Austria and in
response to a globalized world, it aims to help
shape a sustainable society. With all of its
activities, carried by a thirst for knowledge,
curiosity and the entire team‘s research spirit, it
has a radiance far beyond the country‘s borders.
