As a major societal actor, the
University of Art and Design Linz
focuses on fififields of action such
as digitalization, sustainability,
diversity, equality and radical
inclusion both at the level of
content-related discussion and
creative and artistic production,
but also in teaching, development
of the arts, design, research and
everyday life. ThThThe university is
a place of social innovation and
critical proximity to the great
challenges of the present.
Functioning as a test site for
a more responsible future and
as a democratic educational
institution, it is naturally committed
to the values of diversity
and plurality as well as antidiscrimination.
ThThThis attitude
expands to regional, national
and international, practical as
well as scientififific communities
and also schools.
With its strong expertise in media technology, media art, design
and media culture studies, the University of Art and Design Linz is
not a mere user, but rather a highly relevant actor in the context
of digital transfromation. Its social mission is to promote noncommercial
tools and innovative applications which advance a
non-proprietary use of digital technologies on behalf of open science
and open education, and to serve the arts and design with their
indivudal logical concepts.
As a non-binary university, the University of Art and Design Linz
is radically open. It implements important measures to establish
and advance an inclusive, anti-discriminatory organizational
culture which questions its own privileges in the face of global crises
and increasing restrictions of freedom of expression, research and
press. Every day, it proves its strong commitment to more diversity,
equality, plurality and comprehensive inclusion.
